I'm Nathan Yao. I'm a Computer Science major enrolled in the 4+1 BS/MS Combined Degree Program at Purdue University.

I'm expected to graduate Spring '25 with my Master's.

I enjoy CS because imagination, diligence, and care are needed to create something wonderful, like in other kinds of art.

A team collaboration app featuring calendars, events, timecards, task board, etc. Built with Flutter, Flask, SQL Server in CS 307 (Software Engineering).

Shell Interpreter on Linux

A shell interpreter (like bash and csh) featuring builtins, signal handling, subshells, environment variable expansion, wildcarding, etc. Made with C/C++, Lex/Yacc.

Social Media Desktop App

A social media app where users can create, edit, and delete their profiles, posts, and comments. Built entirely with Java.

Enzyme Kinetics Calculator

An algorithm that determines enzyme performance by modeling experiment data using quadratic regression and calculus in MATLAB.

Plant-based Foods App

An informative health app about plant-based substitutes for daily macronutrient needs. Made with Android Studio, Java, XML.

FRC: Robotics Team 3104

Robotics programmer and mechanic for small rookie First Robotics Competition (FRC) team. Wrote Java to enable robotic systems for scoring points in competitions.
